About the club
A friendly club for anyone who likes the game, running since 2019.
South Florida Backgammon Club started in 2019 with four boards in the corner of a pub. Today there are around forty of us, from people who learned last month to players who travel to the big tournaments.
What we're about
Good games and good company. We take the game seriously at the table and not at all seriously away from it. Newcomers get a mentor for their first nights, and nobody pays for their first visit.
How the club runs
The club is run by volunteers. Dana Whitfield directs club nights, Marcus Lee runs the Saturday games and the ratings, and a committee of five meets twice a year. Membership dues cover boards, clocks, trophies and the room.
Affiliation
We're listed with the national federation, and results from our tournaments count towards its points.
