The Points Race, explained
Every match you win on a club night is worth points. Here is how the yearly race works at each location.
Every club night and tournament that counts adds to your total in that location's Points Race.
Tuesday at the JCC is a double elimination: 10 points for every main-bracket win and 5 for every consolation win, plus a bonus of 10 for the winner, 5 for the finalist, 5 for the consolation winner and 2 for the consolation finalist. Monthly tournaments and the Opens are Special Events and pay 15 per main-bracket win.
Thursday at Café Noir is a single elimination: 10 per win, 10 for the winner and 5 for the finalist.
The Top 16 at each location are highlighted all year. On December 31 the race closes, the champion is crowned, and everyone starts from zero on January 1. Open play never counts: it is for fun.
